Red Lobster has some pretty big news to share, especially for WNBA fans in the Chicago area.
On Thursday, the chain of fast-casual seafood restaurants revealed a new collaboration of sorts, but this time, there's no limited-edition drink involved. Instead, Red Lobster is an official partner of the Chicago Sky for the 2025 WNBA season.
The new partnership allows the beloved chain to host "tunnel walks" and sponsor different engagement activities, per the official announcement. Red Lobster will also roll out a red carpet for players at events and games throughout the season, among other appetizing promotional opportunities like in-stadium advertising and mid-game giveaways.

"We're thrilled to partner with Red Lobster to showcase Sky players on the red-carpet during pre-game tunnel walks, one of the signature opportunities to celebrate players' fashion and style," said Alex Teodosi, VP of corporate partnerships for Chicago Sky, in a statement. "We also look forward to introducing exciting new Red Lobster menu options and offerings to Skytown."
Red Lobster currently operates about 22 restaurants in Illinois, with many others in the surrounding area, according to the May 29 press release, which also explained the company picked this particular partnership as "Chicago has long been an important market."
"We are excited to team up with the Chicago Sky and their incredible roster for the 2025 season," Nichole Robillard, Red Lobster's chief marketing officer, added. "Sports is a powerful platform, and supporting women in sports aligns with our company values. We look forward to celebrating the talent, passion, and impact these athletes bring to the game and their communities."
The big announcement, coincidentally, comes just a few days after the one-year anniversary of Red Lobster filing for bankruptcy and social media users failing to keep it together over the idea of the restaurant shuttering for good. Since filing for bankruptcy, Red Lobster underwent a restructuring and closed over one hundred of restaurant locations, even earning the support celebrities like Flavor Flav, who once promised to "save" the company.
