Seann William Scott is returning to Shifting Gears for season 2 and he’s being paid handsomely to do so.
Scott, 48, earned $95,000 per episode on the ABC sitcom last season, but according to court documents viewed by In Touch, that number will increase to $225,000 for season 2.
The pay bump comes as the Dude Where’s My Car actor remains locked in a court battle with ex-wife Olivia Korenberg. Korenberg, 35, is accusing Scott of attempting to kick her and the couple’s 4-year-old daughter out of his $3 million home.
Scott and his attorney, Laura Wasser, filed a motion in court on Wednesday, May 28, asking a judge to dismiss certain allegations in Korenberg’s declaration. As part of the motion, he filed an updated income and expense declaration, where he amended his per-episode pay on the show.

Shifting Gears stars Tim Allen as Matt Parker, an auto restoration shop owner who reunites with his estranged daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings). Scott plays Gabriel, a mechanic and Riley’s love interest.
Production on season 2 is expected to start in August, according to Scott’s motion.
The motion further broke down Scott’s income, showing he made $54,699 in April and that his average monthly income is $110,000. It also showed he has $172,000 in cash and checking accounts but nearly $12 million in stocks, bonds and other assets, and another $18,517,331 in real and personal property.
Scott and Korenberg married in 2019 and separated in October 2023, according to their initial divorce filing, viewed by Us Weekly. They finalized their divorce in May 2024.

According to a filing by Korenberg, she asked Scott in November of last year if she could introduce their daughter to her new partner, whom she had been seeing for five months at the time. Korenberg also allegedly offered Scott the chance to meet the partner first, which he declined.
Weeks later, Scott informed his ex that he planned to sell their Malibu home, giving them until May 3 to vacate. Korenberg claimed to be blindsided by the news and said that she and her daughter would have nowhere to live by the end of June. Additionally, she is pushing back against Scott’s request that she and their daughter remain within 20 miles of Malibu, saying she can no longer afford to live there.
“[Our daughter] and I will have nowhere to live. I cannot afford housing in Malibu. Further, it is not secure to continue living in Malibu, as we have evacuated numerous times due to wildfires,” Korenberg said in the filing.
