Sandals aren’t the only shoes you can wear during the summer. Sure, they can be the easiest to throw on, and if you live somewhere with four seasons, it’s nice to wear open-toed shoes for a few months of the year. But other shoes like fashion sneakers can be great alternatives even during warm months. And Aldi is dropping some cute espadrille sneakers that are on-trend and affordable. Plus they look a lot like Keds and Dolce Vita styles that cost nine times the price. From June 4 to June 10, Aldi will be selling their Serra Ladies Espadrille Sneakers for just $9.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local U.S. stores. Espadrilles are shoes that have a rope-soled design, with braided ropes usually made from wicker, jute or other similar material around the sides of the sole. They come in a lot of different styles now, including wedges and sandals. These sneakers feature a platform sole with an espadrille rope-sole design around the sides. Serra Ladies Espadrille Sneaker, $9.99 at Aldi

These shoes tie up with laces like most sneakers and all three colors that it comes in have a different textured material. There’s a white version, which has a white sneaker with an eyelet fabric overlay. The laces are also white and the roped sides are a typical wicker color. Aldi doesn’t have a lot of information about what the shoes are made with, but they have a braided wicker or rattan look.

There’s also a chambray style of this shoe, which is a jean-like material (or at least that’s how it looks). It’s a light blue color with jean-like seams on the sides. It has silver grommets for its white laces and the same wicker-color rope on the soles.And lastly, there’s the black version of this Aldi sneaker, which seems slightly shorter, but it’s hard to really tell by the pictures. It has a black top portion and black laces (with silver grommets), and the same eyelet material overlay. Keds Triple Up Canvas Ombre Jute Foxing Lace Up, $74.95 at Keds

Aldi’s shoes are unique in terms of regular sneakers, but they’re not a one-of-a-kind design. They look a lot like the Keds Triple Up Canvas Ombre Jute Foxing Lace Up, which currently costs $74.95. As we mentioned before, the sneaker portion of Aldi’s shoes is very similar to Keds sneakers. They’re low-profile and have a classic sneaker look, just like Keds. And these particular shoes have the same espadrille rope-soled design that Aldi’s has. They could be a bit taller, and they rope is made of jute, but it’s nearly identical in design. It only comes in off-white with a solid fabric (no eyelet material).

Then there’s the Jaja Espadrille Sneaker by Dolce Vita, which is on sale at EVEREVE for $89.99 (originally $150). They have a bit of a different top sneaker, with more seams and sections, closer to Adidas or Pumas. However, they still have the espadrille-style rope soles (as the name suggests) and come in the color ivory. Which is still pretty similar. So if you’re looking for new fashion sneakers for the summer, Aldi’s Serra Ladies Espadrille Sneakers are worth checking out.
