A 21-year-old woman was hospitalized with a fractured femur after she was struck by a Chevy Trailblazer in the Valencia Park neighborhood of San Diego, police said Saturday.
San Diego Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of 54th Street at 3 p.m. Friday regarding a traffic collision. When they arrived, officers learned a 41-year-old man, who was driving the Trailblazer, was stopped behind multiple vehicles at the southbound red light at Imperial Avenue.
The victim, who had exited a driveway, made a left turn on a Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle onto the southbound 300 54th Street and struck the rear left corner of the Trailblazer, said SDPD Officer Jose Perales.
The motorcycle rider was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, police said
