90s Icon, 46, Unrecognizable 30 Years After Beloved Teen Drama Series

'90s icon Devon Gummersall is utterly unrecognizable 30 years after appearing in the beloved teen drama series My So-Called Life.

In 1994, the show premiered on ABC but only aired for one season. My So-Called Life left a lasting mark on the genre, as it memorably explored tough topics as they related to adolescence from the point of view of a teenage girl.

Alongside Gummersall, the series starred Claire Danes as Angela Chase, A.J. Langer as Rayanne Graff, Wilson Cruz as Enrique "Rickie" Vasquez, Devon Odessa as Sharon Cherski, Jared Leto as Jordan Catalano, Lisa Wilhoit as Danielle Chase, Tom Irwin as Graham Chase, Bess Armstrong as Patricia "Patty" Chase and more.

In My So-Called Life, Gummersall portrayed a nerd named Brian Krakow, a neighbor with long-ish curly hair who had a crush on Danielle. (Unfortunately, the feelings weren't mutual.)

Today, Gummerall, 46, sports a much shorter hairstyle and a beard—a major departure from how he looked during the '90s show.
