Sweeney started dating Davino, 41, in 2018 and the pair got engaged in 2022. Davino, a businessman and restaurateurfrom Chicago, currently works as a film producer and co-producer Sweeney's romantic comedy Anyone But You.
Breakup rumors first swirled earlier this year when Sweeney was spotted without her engagement ring. An insider told People Magazine that Sweeney and Davino's relationship had been "rocky for a long time" and that she was prioritizing her career.
"Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects," the source said. "What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn't feel right about it,"
The insider added that the pair only lasted this long because it "was hard for her to break it off" and split happened not because there was no love, but because Sweeney "just wants to focus on her career right now."
Sweeney is currently filming the third season of Euphoria, a movie adaptation of The Housemaid bestseller, as well as a biopic of real-life boxer Christy Martin, among other projects.
