Rishabh Pant, on Tuesday (May 27), roared back to form with a stunning century for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
After struggling for runs throughout the season, the LSG skipper finally regained his form and led his team from the front. He walked out to bat in the third over after Matthew Breetzke was dismissed by Nuwan Thushara.
Rishabh Pant and Mitchell Marsh did not let RCB capitalise on the breakthrough. They put LSG in a commanding position by adding 152 runs for the second wicket. The partnership came to an end in the 16th over when Marsh was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The Australian allrounder departed after scoring 67 runs off 37 balls.

Unlike Marsh, Rishabh Pant made the most of his start and went on to convert it into a century. The LSG captain reached his century off 54 balls. It was his second IPL century and first since he smashed 128 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad way back in 2018.
The knock was a fitting response from Rishabh Pant to his critics, and he decided to celebrate it in a brilliant fashion. After reaching his century with a four, the wicketkeeper-batsman celebrated the milestone by doing a backflip.
Anushka Sharma was also in the stands for the game, and she did not look impressed with Rishabh Pant's celebration. As soon as Pant did the backflip, the cameras turned towards the stands and caught Anushka's reaction.
The Bollywood actress did not look pleased and was seen saying something to her friend sitting beside her. Anushka's friend was quick to respond, with fans claiming that she called Pant 'stupid'

Meanwhile, Pant's century helped LSG finish their innings with a daunting total of 227/3. In reply. RCB were on 132/4 after 12 overs at the time of writing this report. RCB will be desperate to win the ongoing game to secure a top-two finish, while LSG are eyeing a win to end their campaign on a winning note.
