The Pirates announced that they have selected the contract of infielder Nick Solak. Outfielder Ji Hwan Bae has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis as a corresponding move. To open a 40-man spot, infielder Michael Helman has been designated for assignment. Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette previously relayed that Solak was in the Pirates’ clubhouse.
