It was announced he would be joining Mike Tomlin‘s team for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

He has signed a one-year contract for an estimated $20 million.

Rodgers will arrive in Pittsburgh next week, where he will begin practice.

However, the 41-year-old is now coming to the end of his illustrious career.

He led the Green Bay Packers to a historic Super Bowl in 2011.

And Rodgers has made his plans for retirement clear.

The veteran was speaking at a Q&A session last month.

He was asked about the possibility of rejoining the Packers before hanging up his cleats.

And the QB has hinted he would sign a one-day contract with them, if that’s what they wanted.

“I understand the cool thing about it, but if I didn’t do it would that make a difference in how I’m viewed in the Packers’ eyes?” he said.

“When I retire, in four years, I’m going to go into the Packers Hall of Fame, may or may not get my number retired.

“Whether they do or not is fine.”

Rodgers also made it clear that he doesn’t have a preference about how he goes into retirement.

“There’s a lot of love from me and how I feel about the team,” he said.

“If I do or don’t [retire a Packer], I don’t think it should make a difference.”

He also said he’d be happy with the one-day deal, as long as the Packers agreed.

“I’m not sure yet,” he said.

“If [the Packers] approach me about it, I probably would.”

Rodgers will join up with the Steelers on June 10, for their mandatory mini camp.

He had been mulling over joining another NFL team or retirement for months.

The QB was released by the New York Jets earlier this year.

And since then, he has been dealing with a mystery personal issue, which has affected his decision.
