Eric Martsolf, who plays John’s son Brady on the show, knows the upcoming episodes will be tough to watch. However, the actor has made a plea to fans in honor of Hogestyn and the legacy he built on the show.
“People shouldn’t be afraid to tune into it. It has a beautiful celebratory feeling to it as well. Dare I say, even humorous at times. So, fans, please, as a tribute to one of the biggest soap studs around, tune in and watch it because he would want that,” he shared during Michael Fairman’s tribute to Hogestyn.
Martsolf echoed the sentiment when speaking with TV Insider. The soap star also encouraged fans to come along for the ride, honoring Hogestyn because it's not all sad.
“Don’t be afraid to tune in. Don’t think it’s going to be a giant black cloud of despair. Give him the honor of taking it in and soaking in the memories and the good stuff, because there is a lot of that. It’s going to fill your heart up. It really will,” Martsolf expressed.
As Parade reported, the Peacock soap has given a first look at John’s funeral. The tribute episodes will air on Monday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 10.
It’s the end of an era in Salem, that’s for sure. Days of Our Lives fans aren’t going to want to miss the tribute to Hogestyn and the final goodbye to John.
Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.
