Anthony Richardson suffered an unfortunate setback with his right shoulder and will miss significant time this offseason.
Colts coach Shane Steichen announced that news on Thursday afternoon, calling the injury a re-aggravation of what Richardson dealt with back in 2023. As a result, Richardson will not participate in Colts mini-camp next week.

— Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) June 5, 2025According to ESPN’s Stephen Holder, Richardson informed trainers of discomfort in his throwing shoulder last week. Tests then revealed an aggravated AC joint. Steichen told reporters he was unsure if Richardson would be able to return in time for the start of training camp on July 22.
The former Florida quarterback is entering his 3rd NFL season with the Colts. He was set to compete with Daniel Jones for the starting job this offseason, but this injury certainly makes things more difficult for Richardson.
Richardson is coming off of a rough season in Indianapolis. He completed just 47.7% of his passes last year and averaged just 6.9 yards per attempt. His passing success rate also dipped to just 36% in Year 2. If healthy, the Colts are hoping Richardson, a former top-5 pick, will take a big step forward in 2025-26.
