Do you remember when you were a kid and there was a toy vending machine at your local salon or mall? And not just any vending machine, but the ones that dispense capsules containing mini figurines, stickers or toys. It was really just you, 25 cents and a dream! Even though life isn't that simple anymore, there’s still a nostalgic feeling you can get when you see these out in the wild (though there are fewer around now). And LEGO is releasing a retro set that hits that childlike feeling with their new vending machine LEGO build that churns out minifigures. LEGO’s Minifigure Vending Machine just dropped, and while it wasn’t available for everyone right away—LEGO Insiders got early access on June 1—starting June 6, everyone is now able to purchase it. It costs $179.99 and contains 1,343 pieces to create a working vending machine that holds ball capsules containing LEGO minifigures. And once finished, this measures over 12 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 9 inches deep.Related: Shoppers Are Racing to Amazon To Buy a 1,070-Piece 'Friends' LEGO Set and It's a 'Must-Have' for Fans
Minifigure Vending Machine, $179.99 at LEGO
(LEGO)Even though the price is on the more expensive side, it comes with 16 LEGO minifigures to fill the capsules in your new LEGO vending machine build. As the site reported, the minifigures all come from “various classic themes such as Castle, Paradisa, Fabuland” and four other themes that fans voted on in a LEGO Ideas poll. And of course, you can put any minifigure that you own at home in these capsules and feed it into this vending machine for some fun surprises. (LEGO)This LEGO set is “designed for adults who love retro style, playful design and classic LEGO charm,” as described in an email sent to Parade. They said that this new set “brings a blast from the past to life in brick form.” Again, this set is completely functional; it comes with a LEGO coin you insert into the turning handle on the machine actually to churn out the toy capsules inside. Enthusiasm for the LEGO vending machine has been through the roof; on LEGO’s Facebook post about this new set, people pointed out how excited they were for this build, with one person commenting that it is “literally brilliant” for LEGO to include exclusive minifigures as prizes in this set.Another person wrote that they “almost want to cry” because they’ve been waiting for this for so long. A few others pointed out fun ways to use this, including at kids' parties and for random DND character assignments. So whether you want to use this LEGO build for your random LEGO minifigure pieces or accessories, or you want to find a way to gamify an event or use it as a randomizer of sorts, the Minifigure Vending Machine is the gift that keeps on giving.Up Next:
