Jelly Roll brought fans to tears during and after his Hershey, Penn. concert on Wednesday, May 28, after his reaction to reuniting with his elementary school teacher went viral.
“My mom taught Jelly in fourth grade and took him to DC on a field trip, after months of waiting for his concert she got to see him live and meet him :) I love my mom,” a TikTok user by the name of anne.shirley44 revealed on the social media app in a video uploaded following the touching interaction, later revealing in a comment, "She always remembered a student named Jason from Antioch, and when she found out who he was she HAD to meet him (again)."
“I get so happy when good people get rewarded,” she added in the caption of the video.
It opened as the two posed for photos outside in the rain following the performance, with the former rapper standing in his all-black concert attire and his former teacher donning a Yankees hat and a blue poncho over her outfit.
It then showed a photo of Jelly Roll on stage, holding a printed poster that featured an old photo from that field trip to Washington, D.C., and a message explaining who she was.
“This is awesome!” he said into his mic after realizing what he was holding. “Thank you!”
His words after get washed out and cut off, but he said something about not being able to wait to talk to her after the show—and the moment clearly stuck with him, as his wife, Bunnie Xo, revealed in the comments: "He called me and told me about this, it meant a lot to him ?."
According to the woman's child, it meant a lot to her, too. "She called me so excited this morning and she said he and his team were so nice and they talked for a WHILE and he was so gracious," she added in another comment.
