English singer/songwriter Billy Idol is sending a blunt message about "scammers" attempting to dupe his fans.
The "Eyes Without a Face" musician took to Instagram on Thursday, May 22 with a straightforward post as he alerted his over one million social media followers to a situation he had been made aware of.

In the upload, a photo screenshot of a duo of messages he received read, "I have a scammer I think who gave me a seat code of 515358 this also includes a special meet and greet, for Billy's up coming concert at Budweiser Stadium in Toronto on Friday May 23, 2025. Is this legit or a scam? He's also saying he's Billy Idol with recordings of Billy's voice to answer questions I have. He's called me thru Telegram and I've heard the voice."
Immediately shutting down the possibility of it being connected to him, the rocker—who first rose to fame in the '70s as the lead singer of the London punk band Generation X before branching out into a solo career—responded in the caption. "There r scammers out there soliciting $ pretending to b me I would not solicit money from u personally so don’t believe them," he warned, before signing off, "Thank u -BFI."

Loyal fans in the comment section responded with their own stories of similar messages they've been sent, like one, who wrote, "There's a lot of them out there that say they're you. I have some on my page."
Reports of the faux notes come at an exciting time for Idol, as he continues his tour, It's a Nice Day To... Tour Again!, which kicked off in April and is slated to hit several cities in the U.S. and Europe throughout the summer and into September 2025. He recently released his first full-length album of new music in over a decade, Dream Into It, last month.
