ROCK HILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A 37-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a 41-year-old man who was arrested in Charlotte, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, officers responded to a stabbing in the 500 block of Iris Circle. When they arrived, they found a 37-year-old woman with stab wounds. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died, officials said.
41-year-old Pedro Mondragon-Ramirez was identified as the suspect. Investigators believe he was in a relationship with the victim and that the incident stemmed from a fight.
Mondragon-Ramirez left the scene in the woman's vehicle, which was later seen and pursued by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Officers were able to take him into custody early Saturday morning, police said.
Mondragon-Ramirez is currently being held in Charlotte as a fugitive from South Carolina. Detectives in Rock Hill have issued arrest warrants for murder and possession of a knife during a violent crime.
