(KRON) -- A school bus carrying as many as 30 children was involved in a crash Monday morning on Highway 17 between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz, according to the California Highway Patrol. Minor injuries were reported in the collision.
The collision occurred just before 10 a.m. on southbound Highway 17 near Vine Hill Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Authorities said the bus carried between 20 and 30 kids, who sustained minor injuries.
The right lane of the southbound roadway remains closed as of 11 a.m., CHP said. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and expect delays. There is no estimated time to fully reopen the roadway.
Further details on the crash were not immediately available.
The crash is the second incident involving a bus carrying children on Highway 17 over the past few days. On Friday, 32 children and five adults were safely evacuated from a charter bus that caught fire.
