The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is again asking for the public’s help solving the shooting death of a man whose body was found dumped in an irrigation ditch in 2012.
Joseph Peters, 41, had been in the Denver and Brighton areas and was trying to start a medical marijuana business at the time of his disappearance, deputies wrote in a social media post Friday.
Employees of the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company found Peters’ body wrapped in a tarp near Interstate 76 and Weld County Road 12.5 on May 16, 2012.
An autopsy found he died after he was shot in the head.
Anyone with information about Peters’ homicide is asked to contact the office at 970-304-6464 or [email protected].
