On Tuesday, May 13, Cricket Australia (CA) announced the strong squad of the Australia National Cricket Team for the ICC World Test Championship Final and the West Indies tour, which saw the return of the star all-rounder Cameron Green.
The final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 is set to be played between the Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team and Temba Bavuma-led South Africa National Cricket Team from June 11 at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

All-rounder Cameron Green, who is regarded as the next big thing in Australian cricket, has been out of the Test squad for a very long time, with his last outing coming against the New Zealand National Cricket Team in March 2024.
Green had picked up a back injury for which he had to undergo surgery, and now he has recovered fully. To prove his fitness, Cameron Green played county cricket for Gloucestershire against Kent, Lancashire, and Leicestershire.
Talking about the rest of the squad, Pat Cummins will be at the helm, and he will be supported by Mitchell Starc, Matt Kuhnemann, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland, Nathan Lyon, and Beau Webster in the bowling department.
In the batting side of things, youngster Sam Konstas has retained his place, and the presence of Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, and Steve Smith makes Australia a strong batting unit.
Also, the Sheffield Shield player of the final, Brendan Doggett, has been named as a travelling reserve in the squad. Notably, the same squad will travel to the Caribbean for a three-match Test series against the West Indies, which will be played in Barbados, Grenada, and Jamaica from June 25.
The team finished the WTC cycle with an impressive series victory - George Bailey
Speaking after the squad selection, Australia chief selector George Bailey said that they finished the WTC 2023-25 cycle on high and would look forward to beating the Proteas to defend their title.
Bailey also expressed delight over the return of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Cameron Green to the Test squad. He elaborated:
“We are fortunate and looking forward to having Pat (Cummins), Josh (Hazlewood), and Cam (Green) back in the squad. The team finished the WTC cycle with an impressive series victory in Sri Lanka, following an equally strong summer in defeating India for the first time in a decade.
"Those series capped a consistent performance across the two-year cycle and now presents us with the incredibly exciting opportunity to defend the World Test Championship. It means a lot to the group to reach the final, and they are very much looking forward to the challenge South Africa will present at Lord's."
