Joanna Gaines is sharing some details about her upcoming Magnolia Network renovation series, Mini Reni!
While speaking to TV Insider for a May 12 interview, Joanna opened up about filming the new series, which does not feature her husband and usual collaborator, Chip Gaines. She said that she continued helping homeowners personalize their "smaller spaces" in Mini Reni, which was filmed in Waco, Texas.
“Helping people make their spaces feel special and personal has always been at the heart of what I love, long before Fixer Upper, back when it was just the Little Shop on Bosque," said Joanna to the publication. "And with Mini Reni, I saw the opportunity to show people that having a home you love and one that tells your story doesn’t have to be a matter of renovating every room, and that sometimes it’s these smaller spaces that have the biggest impact.”
She also said she enjoyed getting creative when taking on mini renovations for Mini Reni.
“I’ve been able to stretch my creativity and really embrace those small details that bring a space to life,” stated Joanna while speaking to the publication.
According to the show's synopsis, Joanna "makes intentional and creative additions to transform smaller spaces with big impact" during Mini Reni's nine episodes.
TV Insider reported that while Chip isn't starring on Mini Reni, he serves as one of the show's producers.
Chip and Joanna, who share five children, spoke about working together throughout their nearly 22-year marriage in a joint June 2024 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
"We're opposites and we've worked with each other from the very beginning. I mean, even when we were dating we were taking on random little projects," said Joanna during the interview. "So I think we only know how to work together. So 21 years later, we're still doing that. So I think that's kind of the thing for us."
Chip interjected that they think "it's fun" to work with each other. He also said that his wife, whom he described as "a saint," brings structure to their marriage.
"I'm kind of all over the place," said Chip.
