(KRON) – A stolen semi-automatic handgun and a ghost gun were found in a traffic stop early Saturday morning, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Santa Rosa officers pulled over a car for a lighting equipment violation near Fourth and Leland streets around 12:51 a.m. According to Santa Rosa PD, officers smelled marijuana and saw open containers of marijuana “in plain view,” which resulted in probable cause for police to search the vehicle. Both subjects were wearing satchels across their chests. According to police, one of the suspects was carrying a loaded .40 caliber Springfield XD-40 semi-automatic handgun in the satchel. The semi-automatic gun was found to have been stolen out of Livermore in 2013.
