San Diego police officers shot and killed a suspect Friday following a roadside confrontation in Grant Hill.
The suspect was inside a car parked next to a church at 31st and K streets when the gunfire erupted shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, authorities said.
Video footage captured by CBS8 showed police speaking with the suspect from across the street, then shouting and opening fire, leaving the blue sedan riddled by more than two dozen bullet holes.
At that point, officers sent in a service dog before approaching the vehicle and pulling out the wounded man.
Paramedics took the suspect to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, police told reporters.
No officers were injured.
The suspect, who appeared to be in his early to mid- 20s, had been accused of being a “firearm threat.” Police did not disclose the nature of the alleged threat.
It was unclear if he was armed at the time of the shooting.
