Boogie Fland declares for NBA Draft after 1 season with John Calipari, Arkansas

Boogie Fland is leaving Arkansas for the NBA.

Following a freshman season that was cut well short by a thumb injury, Fland has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. In a Friday post on his Instagram page, Fland thanked Arkansas, coach John Calipari, and Razorback fans for an “unforgettable” season.

“Returning to the team for March Madness and competing alongside my brothers was an experience I’ll cherish forever,” Fland wrote on Instagram. “Much love to Razorback Nation, Coach Calipari and the entire coaching staff, and every one of my teammates for believing in me.”

Across most mock drafts, Fland seems to have a late first or early second-round grade. A mock draft from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament projected Fland to be picked 38th by the San Antonio Spurs.

Fland was a 5-star recruit in the 2024 signing class out of New York. He originally planned to attend Kentucky, but when Calipari made the move to Fayetteville last spring, Fland followed.

The 6-foot-2 guard was a Day 1 starter for Arkansas and immediately made his presence known. Across his first 7 collegiate games, Fland averaged 15.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.9 steals while shooting 44% from the field and 43% from 3.

In the loss to Mizzou on Jan. 18, Fland suffered a thumb injury that would later require surgery and threaten to sideline him for the remainder of the season. He returned, however, for the Razorbacks’ first-round game against Kansas in the NCAA Tournament. Fland scored 6 points in 24 minutes off the bench in his first game back, helping Arkansas key a first-round upset. He played another 20 minutes in the second-round takedown of 2-seed St. John’s.

Fland closed out the season with 18 starts in 21 appearances. He averaged 13.5 points while shooting 38% from the field and 34% from 3. He also added 3.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.5 steals across 31.8 minutes per game.
