Ilona Maher isn't one to shy away from answering questions about her personal life.
The Olympic rugby star has always been rather candid in her answers relating to intimate topics like dating, her life goals, injuries she's sustained, and how Dancing With the Stars affected her as a competitive athlete. Now, she can add another personal choice to matters she's publicly discussed: her shower habits.

During a recent conversation, the 28-year-old opened up about how often she showers and why, not holding back when asked about former NBA star Rajon Rondo's confession that he would shower five times on game days.
"Five showers is cuckoo," Maher joked in an interview with People published on Wednesday, March 5.
"Actually, I just do one shower a day, maybe I need to start doing more, but when you're training, you're so busy that you just train," she shared.
Explaining her reasons for keeping it limited to just one daily shower, she said it's "Because [after] getting sweaty, then we're going to get more sweaty, and then we're going to get more sweaty after that. At what point is your microbiome going to get f---ed? Is it going to be like, what the hell is happening?"
"So no, I just do one shower," Maher revealed, "maybe two if it's a real muddy one."
But as those who know Maher (or just follow her on Instagram) already know, she also enjoys switching up her hygiene routine and plopping down into a bathtub every now and again, sometimes even posing for an elegantly steamy photo. "I love a bath," she said.

But while playing for Premiership Women’s Rugby in the UK, she's had to go without them–though, she's found other spa treatments to incorporate soothing vibes overseas. "There's no baths here," she told the outlet, "but we recently went to a sauna and an ice bath place and that was really fun."
