Christie Brinkley never backs down from sharing her political views, and her latest social media post is no exception.
The 71-year-old supermodel took to Instagram on Wednesday, March 5, to share a series of photos and video from a recent protest in support of Ukraine in East Hampton, NY—along with a powerful message.

In the first photo, Brinkley posed alongside stylist Lisa Schifter Greenberg on a lawn in front of a large house, both women flashing peace signs at the camera. Subsequent pics showed the women among a crowd of protesters holding signs with slogans like "Fight for Democracy" and "No Kings, No Oligarchs, Democracy Now!"
The final shot in the series was a close-up of a Ukrainian flag.
"Standing up for America and Democracy here and in Ukraine last night in East Hampton," Brinkley wrote in her caption.

"We are a government 'of the people, by the people, and FOR the people….Not FIRE the people," she continued, adding, "Especially the people who work to protect our health and wellbeing like Scientists and Doctors at the #CDC and #WHO or air traffic controllers at the #FAA and of course our multi tasking Park Rangers at the #NPS and forecasters who warn us when we’re threatened #NOAA and many others."
Brinkley went on to argue that "the very real crisis we ARE in…is climate change…wild fires , drought, floods, hurricanes, viruses etc! Ignore it or deny it at your peril! America has always been the leader respected the world over for our right to VOTE and for inspiring 'The American Dream' a land where all men are created EQUAL regardless of race color creed sexual orientation or gender… our allies knew our word was our honor, and our leaders kept their word."

"After the way we treated Zelensky the world order is being rewritten," Brinkley declared, asking, "What are we going to become ? That’s up to 'we the people'. How much do we LOVE our country and each other ? We need to love our country enough to speak up and stand up for the greatest country in the world while we still have our first amendment right to do so .I think LOVE will save the day!"
Brinkley, who is the vice president of the Radiation and Public Health Project, is also spreading her message beyond the realm of social media. She wrote a letter to the editor of the New York Times, which was published on Tuesday, March 4, responding to their article about a battle that took place surrounding a nuclear power plant in Ukraine.
“This is a game of Russian roulette the world can’t afford to play!” Brinkley stated, adding that it's “nothing short of a miraculous stroke of luck” that “the world dodged a catastrophe by avoiding a massive meltdown in the Russian assault on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant last week.”
