CONCORD — An armed robbery suspect was shot and killed by a Concord liquor store employee Friday night, police say.
The incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. at 3200 Willow Pass Road when a suspect armed with a shotgun entered the store and attempted to force an employee to open the store’s safe, according to the Concord Police Department. Another store employee intervened and fired his own weapon, striking the suspect.

Detectives are reviewing evidence and the investigation is ongoing, according to the department. Names are being withheld pending notifications of family.
