NEW York Jets first-round pick offensive lineman Armand Membou sent a message to the team’s new signal-caller, Justin Fields.
The Jets signed Fields to a two-year contract after cutting the NFL legend Aaron Rodgers after two disappointing seasons.
Gang Green selected the Missouri product Membou with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft last month.
The 6-foot-4, 324-pound lineman is slated to be the Jets’ starting right tackle and block for Fields, who left the Pittsburgh Steelers to join New York this offseason.
Membou has participated in rookie minicamps and has yet to meet Fields.
But Membou told The U.S. Sun in an exclusive interview that he can’t wait to go to practice with Fields and that he likes his game.
“Yeah, I’m pretty excited to get to work with [Fields],” Membou said.
“I haven’t met him yet, but I’ve heard a lot of good things, and I’ve seen a lot of good things as well in the football field.”
Fields started six games in 2024 for the Steelers and went 4-2 in that span.
He passed for 1,106 yards in the six contests with five touchdowns and one interception.
But Fields is more known for his rushing abilities as he rushed for 289 yards with five more touchdowns.
However, he was benched in Week 7 in favor of Russell Wilson.
The Jets, meanwhile, experienced a tough campaign with Rodgers at the helm.
They went 5-12 as Rodgers recorded 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
The 41-year-old was not retained by new general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn.
Fields will have the opportunity to be protected by Membou and two other first-round picks, second-year left tackle Olu Fashanu and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.
The starting offensive line also features quality players in left guard John Simpson and center Joe Tippman.

“I’ve heard a lot of good things about these guys and excited to get to work with them and practice and keep building our chemistry,” he said.
Membou’s Thoughts on London Game
The Jets will play in North London in 2025 and host the Denver Broncos in a Week 6 contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It will be the Jets’ third game at Tottenham’s soccer club stadium in five seasons.
Membou told The U.S. Sun that he’s never been to London.

“To be able to play overseas, (it’s) going to be a very blessed experience and cool to witness,” Membou said.
The Jets will hope to claim their second win in London after losing a one-score game to the Minnesota Vikings last October.
