Mostert was primarily a starter during his first two campaigns.

But he started just one of his 13 games played during the 2024 season.

The veteran’s agent Brett Tessler confirmed news of Mostert’s release via social media.

“Looks like my client Raheem Mostert will be playing elsewhere next season,” he wrote.

“Very thankful for his time with the Miami Dolphins, and this gives them a chance to get younger and gives him a chance to pursue a ring elsewhere.”

Mostert went undrafted in 2015 following four years of college football with Purdue.

He has since forged a successful career, earning in the region of $20 million.

The running back had a nomadic start to his career.

After going undrafted, he signed with seven teams in his first two years.

He then found a role in San Francisco, representing the Giants for six seasons between 2016 and 2021.

In 2022, Mostert followed former Giants offensive co-coordinator Mike McDaniel to Miami.

This marked his second stint with the Dolphins, following a brief stay in 2015.

He initially signed a one-year, $2,125,000 contract in Miami, before eventually renewing.

In January 2024, Mostert earned his first Pro Bowl appearance.

The accolade came after Mostern led the league with 21 (rushing/receiving) touchdowns.

Having been released early by the Dolphins, Mostert’s team of representatives can now survey the free agency market.

The 2025 NFL Draft could have a big bearing on where the experienced vet ends up.

It has been speculated that Mostert could return to one of his former teams.

The San Francisco 49ers may be on the lookout for further running back options this year.

Bringing back Mostert may be viewed as a solid option by the 49ers’ front office.
