ADAM SCHEFTER abruptly walked away from the camera during a live TV segment on EPSN’s Get Up.
The NFL insider joined the team on the show to bring the latest from the league’s Black Monday coverage.
Typically, Schefter was hard at work trying to find out which coaches and staff members were packing their desk following the end of the regular season.
And the NFL expert wasn’t going to stop digging for a story just because he was live on air.
Instead, Schefter took a call in the middle of his chat with the show’s panel – heading off camera to attend to business.
The Get Up team were more than happy to let Schefter try and get his scoop, and they weren’t disappointed.
Just moments later he returned to the screen to inform viewers that the Cincinnati Bengals have fired their defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
Fans at home were loving the moment of TV gold and took to social media to react.
One wrote: “It wouldn’t be Black Monday in the NFL without Adam Schefter taking a call in the middle of a live TV hit.”
While another added: “Haha awesome! Nothing better”.
A third joked: “Who needs cinematic suspense when you have Schefter live on TV? Classic.”
A fourth posted: “Bro must charge his phone 63 times a day”.
And a fifth commented: “Hardest working man in the NFL”.
Host Mike Greenberg was keen to get a peek behind the curtain during the whole ordeal too.
He joked that the production team should “leave the box up” on the screen that was showing Schefter in his home, hoping he could see what it’s like to get the breaking news first hand.
Lou Anarumo has lost his job after a disappointing season for Cincinnati that left the Bengals unable to make the playoffs for a second year running despite Joe Burrow‘s best efforts.
Anarumo leaves the franchise after six years.
Cincinnati also fired offensive line coach and run game coordinator Frank Pollack, defensive line coach Marion Hobby, and linebackers coach James Bettcher.
Speaking on the dismissals, head coach Zac Taylor said: “Those were extremely hard moves for me to make.
“Those were all men that I have a ton of respect for and been through high and exciting times with and do not take those decisions lightly.”
