Larry Birkheadand his daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead—whom he shares with the late Anna Nicole Smith—turned heads while posing with an unexpected celebrity in photos from the 2025 Kentucky Derby.
On Saturday, May 3, Larry, 52, stepped out with Dannielynn, 18, for the annual horse race at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. The father-daughter also stopped to take pictures with none other than Selma Blair.

Larry took to Instagram on Monday, May 5 with a carousel of photos from the big event.
"Another @kentuckyderby has come and gone. We had such a great time," he captioned the update. "An unbelievable full circle moment seeing Dannielynn shine at The Barnstable-Brown Gala wearing her Mom’s iconic dress from the same event. Hearing Dannielynn share her thoughts when she was asked about what that meant was an emotional yet proud Dad moment."
In the post, Larry shared that he enjoyed "seeing old friends" at the Kentucky Derby itself.
"The super sweet, humble and beautiful @selmablair was so kind," he declared, including two different snaps of himself with the actress. "Dannielynn said Selma needs to be 'my Shayla' ❤️ ?."
Larry also posed with That '70s Show alum Wilmer Valderrama in one snap.
"Had cool conversation with the ever- cool @wilmervalderrama," he noted. "Always good to talk with genuine people on our annual weekend of traditions. Now, time to sleep. ?."

In the comments, Larry's Instagram followers loved the behind-the-scenes look at his and Dannielynn's Kentucky Derby experience.

In 2007, Smith died from an accidental drug overdose when Dannielynn was just 5 months old. Larry has made attending the Kentucky Derby—the place where he and Smith first met—an annual tradition while raising her out of the spotlight most other days of the year.
