Kevin Durant reached 30,000 career points with two free throws with 1:11 left in the third quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, making the Phoenix Suns forward the eighth player to reach the milestone in NBA history.

Durant came into the game averaging 26.9 points on the season, meaning just an average night would give him the 26 points he needed coming into the game.
Durant has been a model of consistency as a scorer this season, tallying at least 25 points in 25 of his 40 games played this season.
The seven players ahead of him on the all-time scoring list are LeBron James (41,623 and counting), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Michael Jordan (32,292), Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) and Wilt Chamberlain (31,419).

Based on his recent season totals, Durant could pass Nowitzki and Chamberlain during the 2025-26 season.
When Durant moved within 100 points, he was asked but declined to speak about the milestone before he reached it.
The milestone comes four games after Devin Booker became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.
Phoenix will enter the All-Star break after one more game, a Wednesday matchup at the Houston Rockets.
