ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported the moment that head coach Mike Vrabel fell in love with Campbell.
“How would you like to punch your future boss on a job interview? Well, that’s one way that LSU star Will Campbell won over Patriots coach Mike Vrabel,” Thamel wrote on X.
“Last Thursday, the top Patriots brass and Vrabel traveled to Baton Rouge to work out Campbell.
“Vrabel ran the workout and wore a blocking pad over his chest.
“In a drill to execute a drive block, sources said that Campbell hit Vrabel square in the chest and knocked Vrabel back on his derriere.
“Vrabel loved it and had a big smile on his face as he gathered himself and got up.”
Vrabel got his guy.
And so did Maye.
