CELEBRITIES are driving baby name trends more than ever in 2025, a new study has revealed.

Monikers held by our favourite faces, their kids or famous TV characters are inspiring millions of parents, according to new internal data from My 1st Years, the UK’s leading personalised baby gift brand.

”When it comes to popular baby names, the official baby name rankings (ONS rankings) only tell part of the story,” said Molly Ejdowski spokesperson at My 1st Years.

”If you want a sneak peek at the names really on the rise, look no further than what people are personalising.”

While the ONS rankings from 2023 still crown Olivia and Oliver as the top names, My 1st years’ personalised gift data offers a different – and often more current – perspective.

After all, these are the names people are celebrating right now with thoughtful gifts, keepsakes, and announcements.

One of the monikers that’s skyrocketed in popularity by a whopping 21% is Luca – a name not just on Love Island (loved-up Luca Bish) but also on the cinema screens.

The cosmopolitan charm of this name, paired with global pop culture moments like Pixar’s 2021 film Luca, has made it a front-runner for modern parents looking for something European and effortlessly cool.

The name Teddy is also on the rise by 7%, proving the cuddly classic is back in fashion.

The soulful rise of singer Teddy Swims, nominated for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammys, has breathed new life into this soft yet stylish name.

His viral hit “Lose Control” and Grammy performance have driven interest on both sides of the Atlantic.

Another pick that’s proving to be more popular this year is Jude – up by 4% in 2025.

Footballer Jude Bellingham’s breakout performances for Real Madrid have made him one of the most talked-about names in sport — a cultural presence that’s clearly influencing baby name trends across the UK.

With so many events last year and in 2025, the sports industry really seems to be dominating the charts, as monikers such as Serena and Rafael are more popular than ever.

It seems as if Serena Williams’ iconic appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s Superbowl Halftime Show has not only racked up millions of views on YouTube – but also inspired many parents.

Fellow tennis legend, Spanish player Rafael Nadal, also remains to be not just one of the greatest ever – but also one of the most influential when it comes to picking names.

Are Unique Baby Names Worth The Hassle?

YOU may think having a unique name helps you to stand out, but is it all it's cracked up to be?

Fabulous’ Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name while growing up.

When I was a child, all I wanted was one of those personalised keyrings with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not great for a little girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things – like Tracey and Stacey – which can be pretty annoying.

Although I have come into contact with a couple of Josies over the last year – there seems to be a few of us around my age – it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends have.

On the whole I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or crazily spelt.

And it means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not that attached to Griffiths as I’d always just say ‘hi it’s Josie’ when ringing a mate up.

I think it’s nice to be unique and I’ll definitely try and replicate this when naming my own kids.

It’s the rude names you’ve got to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist I’ll definitely be avoiding those.

And following the launch of Wicked at the end of last year, Ariana is also another moniker that’s become a firm favourite for parents across the nation.

”From TikTok hits to Grammy performances, music and pop culture inspire and shape baby name trends in subtle but powerful ways,” said Molly.

”Our data shows clear upticks in names linked to today’s top performers.

”These culturally charged names are also proving popular when it comes to baby gifting, with personalised items, nursery décor, and custom baby hampers reflecting parents’ love for music icons and viral chart-toppers.”

On-screen names – especially those attached to bold, loveable, or stylish characters – often leave a lasting impression, such as Sex Education‘s Maeve Wiley, played by Emma Mackey.
