Harry Potter has a whole world and fanbase of its own. Add in LEGO and it’s a heck of a good time if you’re a fan. There are what feels like an endless number of LEGO sets based on the Harry Potter film franchise, spanning all eight movies. But you can never go wrong with something from the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. And Sam’s Club is currently selling a LEGO set recreating an iconic moment from that film for a nice sale price.Sam’s Club is currently selling the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle The Great Hall Building Toy for $159.99. This is a 20% discount, which is available until July 3. Its original price is $199.99, which you can find at LEGO. Even though there are a few other Hogwarts Castle LEGO sets that feature the Great Hall, this set is the “largest and most detailed LEGO brick model ever of the Hogwarts Castle Great Hall.”Related: Shoppers Are Racing to Costco To Buy an 'Absolutely Brilliant' 3,145-Piece 'Jurassic World' LEGO Set
LEGO 'Harry Potter' Hogwarts Castle The Great Hall Building Toy, $159.99 at Sam's Club; $199.99 at LEGO
(LEGO)Meant to be played with, this LEGO build is intended for ages 10 and up and comes with 1,732 pieces. One side of the finished product shows the outside facade of this part of Hogwarts Castle. And on the other side is open so that you can see into the hall and into the dungeon. Thanks to this, you can see the tables and floating candles in the Great Hall and three detailed rooms in the bottom part of the castle: a bathroom, a corridor and the Hufflepuff common room. These rooms slide out so you can easily play with them. And while you can use this set to recreate any scene from the movies, if you couldn’t tell by now, it’s meant to recreate the troll scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. You know the one: on Halloween night, a big, ugly troll is let loose in the dungeon of Hogwarts Castle and finds Hermione in the girls’ bathroom. To help with the authenticity of the scene, this LEGO set comes with 11 minifigures. You have Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, of course. Then there’s Albus Dumbledore, Professor Quirrell (who let the troll in because he’s housing Voldemort on the other side of his skull) and Professor Vector. Then there’s Leanne (a Hufflepuff), Daphne Greengrass (a Slytherin) and Terry Boot (a Ravenclaw) to help you fill out Hogwarts a little more. There is also a minifigure of the Fat Friar, who is the resident ghost of Hufflepuff House, since the common room is right there. Lastly, you get a not-so-mini figure of the mountain troll.Related: Shoppers Are Racing to LEGO To Buy an 'Iconic' 1,201-Piece 'Lord of the Rings' Set
(LEGO)There are tons of other Easter eggs throughout this build and accessories galore: food, wands, even the Sorcerer’s Stone. There are even collectible portraits; each set gets five of these Hogwarts portraits, and they’re random. There are 14 available portraits and it’s a mystery which ones you’ll receive in your set. It might be obvious with how much is included in this set, but fans love this LEGO build. One person wrote that it’s a “Magical Build with Incredible Detail & Nostalgia!""The Great Hall is truly a spellbinding set that brought immense joy to our family!" they continued in their review. Another shopper called it “the Greatest Hall,” and said not to let the lack of a grand staircase fool you: Harry Potter fans are going to love how detailed it is. Plus, they pointed out that you can build your own rooms and insert them into the bottom slots, leaving endless possibilities. So if you’re a major fan of the Harry Potter films and have had your eye on this set for a while, Sam’s Club’s deal on the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle The Great Hall Building Toy is worth checking out.
