Bruce Springsteen Hints at New Music and Reveals Upcoming Box Set

Bruce Springsteen recently revealed that new music is on the horizon, as well as a new box set, just days before his Tracks II: The Lost Albums seven-disc set is released — and on the heels of the first trailer for his upcoming biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White.

"I'm a better man when I'm working," the Boss, 75, revealed to the New York Times in a recent interview. "I feel like I've got plenty of work left in me, and our band does too. Our band's in great shape, and we carry on."

That said, the iconic musician hasn’t announced any new music just yet — but that doesn’t mean he won’t at some point in the future. In fact, releasing Tracks II is arguably a sign that he’s getting ready to start fresh.

Plus, there’s even more to come from him in the vein of next week’s release. "Tracks III, that is finished," Springsteen explained to the outlet. "It's basically what was left in the vault. So there was a lot of good music left. There are five full albums of music." So, with Tracks II coming and Tracks III in the pipeline, we may just see some new music soon after that.

Tracks II will include sessions from his 1973 debut album Greetings From Asbury Park N.J., as well as music recorded as recently as last year. It will be released on June 27, and is a follow-up to Springsteen’s 1998 release Tracks. That four-disc box set included demos, unreleased tracks, and alternate versions that spanned the length of his career, including material from 1975's Born to Run, 1978's Darkness on the Edge of Town, 1984's Born in the U.S.A., and 1995’s The Ghost of Tom Joad.

Springsteen is taking a different approach with Tracks II and has instead organized the release into seven separate LPs, starting with material from LA Garage Sessions ‘83. No word yet on what Tracks III will look like, but undoubtedly the New Jersey native will do something interesting and iconic, just like him.
