It’s been 35 years since Home Alone made Macaulay Culkin a household name and one of Hollywood’s biggest child stars.
Over the years, he’s mostly stayed out of the spotlight—until last week, when he was spotted in Los Angeles.
On Thursday, June 5, the 44-year-old actor was seen running errands alongside his two kids.
Dressed casually in a denim jacket, black jeans and a vintage Sesame Street T-shirt, Culkin looked almost unrecognizable in photos captured by BackGrid.

He completed the casual look with dark sunglasses and a “PAPA” baseball cap, keeping his head down as photos were being taken.
Known for typically sporting a clean-shaven face, Culkin had some scruff around his beard, adding to his undercover appearance.
Although he tends to keep a low profile, Culkin has been acting since he was 4-years-old.

He first got his start in Broadway productions, including the New York City Ballet’s The Nutcracker, before landing bigger roles on screen.
By the late '80s, he appeared in Rocket Gibraltar (1988) and See You in the Morning (1989), reportedly earning praise from The New Yorker and other outlets at the time.
In 1990, Culkin starred in Home Alone — a part that was written specifically with him in mind.
The year prior, he had impressed director John Hughes in Uncle Buck, leading the director to write a script centered around a young boy, and Culkin was his first choice.
While the film became a holiday classic and box office hit, the actor says he rarely watches it.
“It’s background radiation at Christmastime,” he joked during a 2018 interview on The Ellen Show. “I’ve had people who want to sit down and watch it with me, which is both flattering and creepy.”
Culkin explained that his memories from the set make it difficult to enjoy the film like everyone else.
“I’m remembering that day on set, like, how I was hiding my Pepsi behind the couch. I can’t watch it the same way other people can.”
