Kamhariyan Johnson is one of Alabama‘s priority recruits for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Despite his commitment on April 12, he opted to take a series of official visits to other schools.
On Tuesday, though, Johnson announced that his recruitment was shut down. He made the announcement on his X account:

— Kamhariyan “Mhari” Johnson⭐️ (@mharijohnson) June 10, 2025Johnson took an official visit to Ole Miss on May 30, followed by one to Clemson. According to On3’s Andrew Bone, Johnson took a visit to Alabama the weekend of June 7 with two more to Auburn and Miami scheduled.
But the time spent in Tuscaloosa was enough for Johnson to lock things down with the Crimson Tide. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 33 edge rusher in the class of 2026 and the No. 16 player in the state of Alabama.
The Crimson Tide currently has 6 players committed in the 2026 recruiting cycle, led by 5-star Atlanta-area cornerback Jorden Edmonds. Johnson is the 2nd edge rusher to commit to the Tide, joining Gainesville (Ga.) product Jamarion Matthews.
The Tide went 9-4 in 2024, Kalen DeBoer’s first season in charge after the retirement of Nick Saban. That included losses to Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Oklahoma during the regular season.
