The legendary late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman’s son, Cooper Hoffman, was photographed at a dinner celebrating Chanel at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9 — and he truly looked like the spitting image of his late father.
Hoffman, 22, donned a black suit and brown shirt, but opted to go without a tie for the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner at The Odeon. He also was sporting some fairly new facial hair that makes him look quite grown up — especially if you remember his big screen debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s hit film Licorice Pizza from 2021. He was at least 17 years old when the project was filmed, so he really has grown into his handsome features and is starting to look more and more like his father into his adulthood.

He also posed for photos with beloved actress Lucy Liu, who premiered her film Rosemead at the festival days before, during the event. The duo starred together in Old Guy, which was released back in February.
Hoffman’s father, the iconic actor Seymour Hoffman, died in February 2014 at age 46. He was, at that point in his life, already one of the most prolific actors of his generation and a cultural mainstay in the world of filmmaking and theater.

His final role on screen was his final turn as Plutarch Heavensbee in both parts of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay finale films, but he was perhaps best known for his quirky supporting roles in Boogie Nights, Twister, and Almost Famous, as well as powerhouse leading performances in The Master and Capote.
As for the late icon’s son, he’s done a couple heavy hitters since his debut project, which was met with rave reviews.
Prior to Old Guy, Hoffman last appeared as Dick Ebersol, one of the producers who developed Saturday Night Live with Lorne Michaels, in 2024’s Saturday Night and next, you’ll be able to catch him in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk. The horror film — which also stars David Jonsson, Mark Hamill, Charlie Plummer, and Judy Greer — hits theaters on September 12, 2025.
