(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- We’ve made it to the end of the work week, and our treat will be a foggy start and stormy finish, but there will be some sunshine mixed in here and there. Temperatures are sitting in the 60s and 70s this Friday morning with light and variable winds kicking off the day.
We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds Friday afternoon with upper 80s on tap ahead of pop-up afternoon storms. These storms will have the potential to pack a punch in the form of damaging winds, with a marginal risk for severe weather in place for the Queen City and surrounding areas.
Highs will fall just shy of 89 degrees before overnight lows dip into the low 70s heading into Saturday. We’ll host another storm chance for the start of the weekend with the added threat of large hail with the potential for damaging winds.
Saturday will be a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day with a slight risk for severe weather taking over the Carolinas. Storms will likely focus on the peak heating hours of the day and taper off late in the evening.Highs on Saturday can reach 90 degrees as we continue to bring on the heat this weekend. Mid-80s return Sunday to finish the weekend with intermittent storms still likely.
Early next week will settle into the mid- to upper 80s as our active pattern persists from Wednesday into Thursday.
Friday: Mix of Sun & Clouds with Afternoon Storms. High: 89.
