Unlike previous seasons of the hit summer series, the 10th edition of Paradise will feature contestants from the Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette alongside younger stars.
When asked if the senior contestants could date contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Palmer said, “Hopefully yes."
Wells Adams, Bachelorette alum and Paradise bartender, is also “hopeful” for a crossover, age-gap romance.
“This happens all the time in the real world. Look at Bill Belichick right now. It’s happening in front of us,” he said. "The thing that I love about The Golden Bachelor so much is they’ve lived so much more life that their advice, their conversations, the stakes for them are just so much bigger. I think that’ll be a good thing for them to impart on all these young kids.”
Palmer added that having Golden alumni on the cast is the number one thing he's looking forward to this season.
"Outside of them having a second shot at finding love, I’m really interested to see the perspectives that the Golden cast bring, educating our younger cast on life and love," Palmer said. "I think there’s a lot of value there.”
Bachelor in Paradise will return to ABC Monday, July 7, at 8 p.m. ET.
