The swing dance revival of the 1990s may have long since passed, but Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is still going strong. Opening their 2025 tour at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on June 6, the acclaimed band hasn’t released new music in nearly a decade; however ,their jazzy, uptempo, big band numbers have long made them firm favorites for generations of swing fans.

Their current set covers music from their nearly four decades of performing, with plenty of crowd-pleasers for their fans, but this is one show where it’s a shame Humphreys doesn’t have a dance floor.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy: Friday, June 6 at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay, 2241 Shelter Island Drive. 8 p.m. $62. humphreysconcerts.com.

    Punk rock karaoke

All-star combo Punk Rock Karaoke returns to The Holding Company on June 8 for a special matinee performance. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and sign up for a chance to sing classic punk and new wave songs, such as The Adolescents “Amoeba” or The Go-Go’s “We Got The Beat,” backed by four legendary musicians, including Greg Hetson of Bad Religion (guitar), Stan Lee of The Dickies (guitar), Randy Bradbury of Pennywise (bass), and Darrin Pfeiffer of Goldfinger (drums).

As with any karaoke event, while the backing music is always solid and vocal performances can vary, but Punk Rock Karaoke keeps its shows fast paced and fun.

Punk Rock Karaoke: Sunday, June 8 at The Holding Company, 5046 Newport Ave., 2 p.m. $11. theholdingcompanyob.com.

    Humphrey’s Backstage Live

Beloved blues guitarist Bill Magee appears at Humphreys Backstage Live on June 9. A local legend, Magee has had a long, storied career, including decades of touring, as well as seeing him join up with a young, pre-fame Jimi Hendrix in an early version of the Famous Flames. Since those early days of the 1960s on the dance club circuit, Magee has established himself as a top-shelf Southern blues guitarist, with a following of his own.

There are fewer and fewer opportunities to see and hear music’s pioneering performers. Blues fans should make it a priority to catch a live set from Bill Magee.

Bill Magee: Monday, June 9 at Humphreys Backstage Live, 2241 Shelter Island Drive. 6 p.m. $5. humphreysbackstagelive.com.

    The Sabrosas

Billed as San Diego’s only all-female salsa band, The Sabrosas Latin Orchestra comes to The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center’s Wu Tsai QRT.yrd for a free afternoon performance on June 11.

Featuring San Diego Music Hall of Fame inductee, percussionist Monette Marino, the 11-piece group excels at playing salsa and cumbia standards, complete with a tight horn section and plenty of groove. Latin jazz fans in particular will love this show, but anyone who enjoys their music with the accent on beats and rhythms will find much to appreciate at The Sabrosas Latin Orchestra’s concerts.

The Sabrosas Latin Orchestra: Wednesday, June 11 at The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center’s Wu Tsai QRT.yrd, 7600 Fay Ave. 4:30 p.m. Free. theconrad.org.

    Beaumont’s

Barely into her teens, the future looks bright for Caroline Lobbin, who is performing at Beaumont’s on June 12.

Lobbin, 14, is already four years into an impressive career that has seen her sing the national anthem at a recent Clippers game, as well as act in several short films. Adept at piano and guitar, she is also a gifted songwriter, with an observational tone in her lyrics and both message songs (“I’ll Be Your Mirror”), as well as teen pop (“Rollercoasters”) in her repertoire. This show is a good opportunity to catch one of San Diego’s newest performers at the beginning of a promising career.

    Caroline Lobbin: Thursday, June 12 at Beaumont’s Eatery, 5662 La Jolla Blvd. 7:30 p.m. $10. beaumontseatery.com.
