Just when you feel like you might own every kind of sandal out there, new trends or styles (or even just patterns) come out. With summer right around the corner (or here for a lot of people, in terms of weather), you might be taking a long look at the open-toed shoes you own and deciding whether you can fit one more pair in your closet. Well, you might want to make some room because Aldi's upcoming drop includes ankle strap footbed sandals that are not just stylish and affordable, they look a lot like Steve Madden and Sam Edelman styles that cost almost seven times the price. From June 4 to June 10, Aldi will be selling Serra Ankle Strap Footbed Sandals for $14.99. They’ll be in the Aldi Finds section of local U.S. stores while quantities last. There are two distinct styles available, and three colors in total. Serra Ankle Strap Footbed Sandals, $14.99 at Aldi

The first pair that caught our attention was the tan version, which has a beige or light tan footbed and outsole. This one has two thick straps, one over the toes and one in front of the ankle. These straps are the same color as wicker and look like they could be made with raffia, however, Aldi doesn’t list the materials. Regardless, the straps are trimmed in a tan faux leather material. These sandals have gold hardware and a buckle on each top strap.

Then there’s the black pair of Aldi’s ankle strap footbed sandals. These actually have an ankle strap, as the name suggests, but that’s the main structural difference between these and the tan pair. They have a black footbed sole and two faux leather black straps with a strap that goes around the back of the ankles. These also have gold hardware and the same buckle. Lastly is the ivory style of these sandals. It has a cream-colored footbed and straps along with the same design as the black sandals. These also have gold hardware and the same buckle situation.

Mayven Sandal In - Steve Madden, $85 (originally $90) at REVOLVE

The tan Aldi sandals stood out a lot because of how much they look like other sandals out there including Steve Madden’s Mayven Sandal In. They cost $85 at REVOLVE (though they were originally $90) and come in one color: Nat [Natural] Raffia. They have a footbed sole that is nearly the same color as Aldi’s tan shoe and the straps have a similar look too. These are made out of raffia and have a leather trim. The main difference is the fact that the front strap has a cross design and there are no buckles. But otherwise, the concept is very close. 

Women's Rowan Double Strap Slide Sandals - Sam Edelman, $100 at Bloomingdale's

There’s also the Women's Rowan Double Strap Slide Sandals by Sam Edelman, which currently costs $100 at Bloomingdale's. The color Sand Dune Raffia is also similar in concept to the tan version of Aldi’s sandals. They have the contoured, tan footbed and raffia straps trimmed in a solid material (this one looks like suede). These sandals don’t have adjustable straps nor any buckles or gold hardware, but at first glance they’re close!So if you’re looking to add one more pair of sandals to your summer wardrobe and want something chic and comfortable without hurting your pockets too much, Aldi’s Serra Ankle Strap Footbed Sandals are definitely worth looking at.Up Next:
