Karl-Anthony Towns has kept the New York Knicks alive at times in the playoffs.
But Charles Barkley is not happy with every aspect of his game.
The star center became something of a clutch maestro in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.
Down 2-0 in the series — and down by 20 points — KAT led a frantic fourth-quarter rally that culminated in Jalen Brunson sinking the game-winning basket in a pulsating 106-100 victory that stunned Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Towns, who arrived in New York thanks to an unknown ‘$1’ loophole, has also averaged 21.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists through 17 games in the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
But not everything he’s done in this series against the Pacers — and their own ‘clutch king’ Tyrese Haliburton — has helped his team win.
KAT has committed four, three, five, four and five fouls in those five match-ups with Indiana.
Some of those have been ill-timed, and it’s clear they are a source of frustration for Barkley.
“I’ve got to say something, I’ve got to criticize you,” the Hall of Famer began, sitting down with Towns, after the Knicks secured a 111-94 win in Game 5 to keep the Eastern Conference Series alive.
“Young man, why do you be getting those dumb fouls? Why do you do that?”
Towns, in a good mood after the putting up 24 points, 13 rebounds and three assists against Indiana to pull the series back to 3-2, offered a simple answer.
“God only knows,” he said, on the same night a controversial reporter had a tense confrontation with Pacers star Pascal Siakam.
Barkley, though, continued to press him.

“You’ve got to stop doing that. You can get fouls, but the other day when you just grabbed somebody by the wrist… last game, you can’t be getting those fouls.”
Towns, taking notice, then responded: “I’ve got to do a much better job out there.
“I can’t (be getting those fouls). You’re right, it hurts our team.”
While Barkley boldly offered KAT some criticism to his face on Thursday night, he did also have a rather bizarre compliment for the Knicks star.
“You the only basketball player I know that’s got good looking feet, damn!” he said, as Towns sat down next to him wearing slides.

Fans were quick to notice the bizarre exchange, and shared their reaction on social media.
“Chill, Chuck. Chill,” one person begged.
“Find someone that looks at you the way Charles looks at Karl-Anthony Towns’ feet,” another wrote, sharing a screenshot.
“Chuck likes dem feet,” a third joked.
“Chuck says the funniest things,” a fourth said, while a fifth concluded: “Chuck is just unhinged, he’s a national treasure.”
Towns, and his ‘good looking feet’ will step back onto the court in Indiana for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday, where he will hope to inspire the Knicks to a win that would tie the series 3-3 and set up a decider at Madison Square Garden.
