An Indigenous teenager reported missing from Lakewood was last seen nearly a week ago in Arvada, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Valerie Ayala-Griego, 15, was last seen being dropped off near West 51st Place and Independence Street in Arvada at about 2 p.m. on May 22, CBI officials said in a Missing Indigenous Person Alert.
The teenager was wearing a light blue t-shirt and light blue sweatpants and carrying a black Hello Kitty handbag, Lakewood police officials said.
Valerie, whose tribal affiliation is Cherokee, is described as a 5-foot-5-inch, 160-pound girl with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the alert.
Anyone with information on Valerie or her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Lakewood Police Department at 303-980-7300.
