Premier League Darts Finals Night: Format

Finals Night is different to all of the other evenings.

Instead of the usual best of 11 legs, the two semi-finals are best of 19, meaning first to ten wins.

In the final, it is best of 21 instead, so first to 11 claims the trophy.

There are no points up for grabs, and it is just a straight knockout.

Humphries and Littler will throw first in their respective semi-finals because they finished first and second in the table.

In the final, there will be a bull-off in the practice room to determine the order of throw.

How does the Darts Premier League work?

Eight of the world’s leading players go head-to-head over 17 nights, beginning in February and ending in a huge finals night in May.

Each of the players meet every week from 1-7 and then again in weeks 9-15 with weeks 8 and 16 drawn based on league standings. The points system is explained here:

    Nightly winner: 5 points Runner-up: 3 points Losing semi-finalists: 2 points

After week 16, the top four in the league standings contest the semi-finals and the final at The O2 arena in London.

First takes on fourth and second comes up against third in the best-of-19-leg semi-finals before a best-of-21-leg final.
