Akash Singh was left with a bloodied hand after copping a blow from Shubman Gill during the ongoing match between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The incident took place in the 6th over when the left-arm pacer was bowling to Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill. He suffered the injury on the very first ball of the over. Akash Singh's first delivery was a full delivery outside the off stump and Gill decided to play a straight drive.
Gill made a good connection with the ball, hitting it just to the right of Akash Singh who tried to stop the ball with both hands. While Akash Singh could not stop the ball cleanly, he did manage to stop it from going to the fence.

However, he ended up suffering an injury in his right hand while stopping the ball. At first, Akash did not realize that blood was coming out of his hand as he was walking back toward his bowling mark. And just when he was about to start his run-up, he saw his hand and called the physio straight away.
The physio came running in as blood was oozing out of Akash's right hand. Fortunately, it was not his bowling arm but the damage was severe enough to force him off the field. The remaining five balls of the over were then bowled by Avesh Khan.
