"I have a clue," Bush Hager, 43, said on Thursday, while teasing that her surprise guest co-host on Wednesday, May 28 is a "former basketball star turned best-selling author."
"Who is it? Nobody knows," she added, while her co-host this week, Savannah Guthrie, chimed in to comment on Bush Hager's elusiveness.
"You didn't even say if it's male or female," Guthrie, 53, said, while Bush Hager said she's "not going to" reveal any more details.
"It's like 'Guess Who?'" Bush Hager joked.

"Okay wow," Guthrie said while trying to crack the code, repeating, "Former basketball star, best-selling author—well that tells me almost nothing."
"Okay, good," Bush Hager quipped.
But fans in the comments were insistent on trying to figure out the answer, with some users naming plausible guesses like Shaquille O'Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Some commenters, however, were convinced that Hoda Kotb will be the surprise co-host next Wednesday. Even though she was never a professional basketball player, many fans pointed out that the former Today show host was a "great" basketball player in high school.
It looks like fans will have to tune in to officially see who will be joining Bush Hager on Wednesday, May 28.
