The Indianapolis 500 – one of the biggest events in the motorsport calendar – returns for its 109th edition on Sunday.
A total of 33 cars will take on the epic race, which spans 200 laps of the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway and a staggering total distance of 500 miles.
Reigning champion Josef Newgarden is chasing history as he bids to become the first driver ever to win 'the greatest spectacle in racing' three times in a row but will have to start from the back of the grid, alongside teammate Will Power, due to a penalty.

But it is 25-year-old Robert Shwartzman who will be on pole after becoming the first rookie to achieve the feat in 42 years, with two-time winner Takuma Sato in second.
