AARON Rodgers’ reason for delaying a decision on his future has been revealed.
And the quarterback’s likely timeline on when he’ll make a call has also been made apparent.
Rodgers, 41, has yet to commit to playing next season.
He has been pursued by the Pittsburgh Steelers ever since he was cut by the New York Jets in March.
But the four-time MVP has left everybody in the dark on his future, including the Steelers.
Biographer Ian O’Connor previously wrote a book on Rodgers.
And he spoke on 93.7 The Fan about they mystery of the quarterback’s future.
O’Connor said, “I just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but he’s told the Steelers, ‘Listen, I’m gonna play for you.
“‘I just don’t want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues.
“‘I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all.
The nature of Rodgers’ personal issues are unclear.
But O’Connor gave a likely timeline on when Rodgers will suit up for the Steelers.
“If I had $100 to put down, my feeling is he’ll be in uniform June 10 for the start of the mandatory minicamp,” O’Connor said.
“I don’t know about OTAs.
“I think that word ‘mandatory,’ after what he went through last year when he missed two practices to be checking out the pyramids in Egypt, he took so much grief for that that I think he will honor that.
“And my suspicion is that Mike Tomlin has given a verbal sign-off to that already.”
Steelers OTAs begin on May 27 but mandatory minicamp is not until June 10.

Last year Rodgers was criticized for missing some of Jets minicamp to take a trip to Egypt.
He was fined $50,000 for the absence, which was deemed as “unexcused.”
Rodgers spoke to the Pat McAfee Show during the offseason about his future.
“I’m in a different phase of my life,” he said.
“I’m 41 years old, I’m in a serious relationship, I have personal commitments I’ve made.
“And people in my inner circle battling difficult stuff.”
