The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, confirmed that Josh Hazlewood is still recovering from his shoulder injury as IPL 2025 resumes.
The Australian pacer is currently in his hometown, Australia, and is undergoing rehabilitation to work on his fitness. Hazlewood confirms that he’ll be available for RCB’s later matches in the season.

Mo Bobat also confirmed that Rajat Patidar is ready to lead RCB in the first match after resumption against Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 17.
The director doesn’t have any idea about when Hazlewood will be joining the squad, but they are getting day-by-day updates from him.
Mo Bobat reacts to IPL suspension
When IPL 2025 was suspended immediately, Bobat admitted that it was extremely challenging to arrange security and travel arrangements on short notice for the staff and players.
Mo Bobat praised the management they communicating well with the players and also discuss them with the revised schedule. Bobat also insisted on informing the Indian players to report on time to the RCB camp.
“Once we got the schedule, we didn't have much time to try and make sense of it and try and understand what we needed to do to get ready for our first game. So overnight we were trying to find out as much security detail as possible because we needed to communicate that to the players. We made a very quick decision to communicate to the Indian players about when we wanted them back,” Bobat responded.
Bobat himself coordinates with all the cricket boards to plan the arrangements for the players to rejoin the squad. He also revealed that Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower regularly on video calls for logistical arrangements for players to feel safe.
Mo Bobat on players' safety
Not like other teams, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's overseas players are back in India except Hazlewood, who is suffering from a shoulder injury. Their management made all the arrangements to arrange the travel and ensure that players felt safe during this time.
“We also needed to liaise with some of the overseas governing bodies, you know, the ECB, Cricket Australia, and obviously more recently, you know, Cricket South Africa and West Indies. Because you need to know what impact it's going to have on them now that it's finishing dating," Bobat stated
"So there was a lot of communicating to do. Andy and I lined up video calls with all of the overseas players. We spoke to each of them, took them through the security detail, took them through the schedule, and talked to them about how RCB were going to look after them, which is really important for them to understand because we want them to feel safe and happy here,” bobat added.
