The ongoing edition of the IPL is set to resume on May 17 as the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players and support staff reached Bengaluru to face the home side, RCB. Ajinkya Rahane and his team will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in a crucial must-win match.
As per a report from Revzsport, several Indian players arrived in batches, while West Indian stars including Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Rovman Powell are expected to reach Bengaluru by Wednesday night. They, along with assistant coach Otis Gibson and team mentor Dwayne Bravo, were in Dubai after the tournament was briefly suspended due to cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.
Gurbaz to join from Kabul
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who returned to Kabul, is likely to join the West Indian contingent in Dubai before flying to India. Express pacer Anrich Nortje will arrive in Bengaluru from the Maldives.
However, uncertainties remain regarding the return of England all-rounder Moeen Ali and Australian pacer Spencer Johnson, though reports suggest they could rejoin the squad by Thursday. Meanwhile, Proteas wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock is unlikely to participate in the rest of the tournament.
